Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade reacts to tragic COVID-19 deaths of Sekou Smith

As the new coronavirus pandemic rages across the country, it has claimed the life of a member of the NBA family, Sekou Smith.

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade has expressed his sadness on social media over the passing of Smith.

Smith covered the NBA for years as a correspondent for NBA TV. He also created and presented the “Hang Time Podcast” and was the creator and editor of NBA.com’s Hang Time Blog.

To date, the pandemic has claimed the lives of more than 400,000 people in the United States, and it has had an effect on the NBA above Smith’s death.

A significant number of matches this season have been postponed because players have tested positive for the new coronavirus or have been placed in security protocols due to contract detection.

Last year, Karl-Anthony Towns’ mother and six other members of his family died of COVID-19. A few days ago, the Minnesota Timberwolves star himself tested positive for the virus.

The Heat currently have several players who are away due to COVID-19 safety protocols.
