Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Project Red has released official modding tools for the dystopian RPG, allowing players to create their own content.
Since its launch, there have been many third-party mods for Cyberpunk 2077, including one that enabled you to play the game (badly) in third person. With the official tools now available, the flood gates are open for personal search for content, exchange of assets and more. CD Projekt Red says that the toolkit with the game will be updated, which means that the compatibility of modes should not be a problem.
It comes on the heels of the first major patch for Cyberpunk 2077, which was aimed at addressing some of the game’s most pressing stability, performance and scripting issues. Although Patch 1.1 did help some players, it accidentally introduced a new game-breaking bug that could stop your progress with your main story. CD Projekt Red is aware of this and has issued a solution to the problem until a proper solution is issued.
Patch 1.1 is the first in a roadmap of patches that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive over the next few months, with the next major patch expected in February. CD Project Red announced the roadmap in an apology video for the launch of the game, promising to address the current issues before moving on to the development of free DLC. PS5 and Xbox Series X | S-posters for Cyberpunk 2077 are expected later in 2021, though the game is still not on sale on PSN after it is removed.
Cyberpunk 2077 can deliver a compelling role-playing experience in a visually compelling world if it works right. In our Cyberpunk 2077 review, critic Kallie Plagge wrote: ‘The side quest and the characters they display are the bright beacon through the neon-soaked darkness of Night City, and they give you space to be the best explore what the core RPG mechanics offer. This is what led me through an otherwise disappointing experience. ‘
