Kevin Hart stars in Cate Blanchett in the cast of ‘Borderlands’, an adaptation of the popular video game.
Hart will play Roland, a skilled ex-soldier mercenary, in the Lionsgate movie. Eli Roth, whose resume includes’ The House With a Clock in its Walls’ and Bruce Willis’ lead action thriller ‘Death Wish’, directs’ Borderlands’.
“I’m delighted to be working with Kevin,” Roth said. ” Borderlands’ is a different kind of role for him, and we’m excited to thrill the audience with a side of Kevin they’ve never seen before. He’s going to be a wonderful Roland. ‘

Although the plot details were kept under surveillance, ‘Borderlands’ is based on the role-playing shooter game launched in 2009. The game, which has already yielded several sequels, takes place on the planet Pandora. Craig Mazin, who created the award-winning HBO miniseries “Chernobyl”, wrote the latest draft of the screenplay.
Hart recently filmed the production of Sony’s action comedy “The Man From Toronto”, which also stars Woody Harrelson and Kaley Cuoco. Earlier in 2020, he filmed a drama entitled ‘Fatherhood’. Hart’s recent big screen credits are a certified box office draw, including ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’, ‘The Secret Life of Pets 2’, ‘The Upside’ and ‘Night School’. His films, including “Ride Along” and “Central Intelligence,” grossed more than $ 4 billion in worldwide ticket sales.
