According to the records, no probable cause was found in the case of dr. Hasan Gokal, public health worker in Harris County.
The district attorney’s office told ABC13 the district attorney has the option to take this case to a grand jury. So far no final decision has been made.
In light of the news, Gokal’s lawyer, Paul Doyle, sent the following statement:
“We appreciate today’s outcome and will now pursue our efforts to reverse an unlawful termination process. his family not enough.The agency despised the name of this good civil servant and took away his job for no reason.The responsible must do more to rectify it.
We also sincerely hope that this incident does not deter other medical personnel from the front line from doing everything in their power to ensure that vaccines are not wasted. ‘
According to previous reports, Gokal was accused of stealing the nine-dose vial while working at the country’s vaccination center at Lyndsay Lyons Park in Humble on December 29.
A week later, Gokal told a Harris County Public Health Officer, who then reported him to supervisors. The misuse of a vaccine could lead to a loss of government funding to the province, according to Harris County Public Health officials, who first investigated the case that led to Gokal being terminated.
Gokal was one of the faces of Harris County Public Health during the pandemic, which appeared in videos and on city hall panels.
According to online records, he has a good reputation with the Texas Medical Board and has been practicing medicine for 21 years, including nine years in Texas.
