CLARK COUNTY – More than 18,000 people eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines during Phase 1B of the state have reported Tier 1 on the Clark County Public Health website to be notified when they can receive their first dose .

The department warned Sunday that transportation of vaccinations to health care providers, such as PeaceHealth Southwest, Legacy Salmon Creek, The Vancouver Clinic and Sea Mar Community Health Centers, could remain limited, meaning it could take weeks before people can be scheduled .
However, the Washington Department of Health is expected to open a mass vaccination center at Clark County Fairgrounds from Tuesday, January 26, with only vaccines being administered by appointment.
Clark County Public Health is appealing to people who have registered through the county’s website to also search for an appointment at the fair site using the Department of Health’s website.
(NOTE: As of this publication, no available slots are listed on the Fairgrounds vaccination site schedule page, but this is likely to change by Monday.)
“Those who have submitted requests to Public Health will remain on our list, and we will continue to work with local health care facilities to connect individuals as quickly as possible,” said Dr. Alan Melnick, a Clark County health official, said. and director of public health. “Some people, however, can be vaccinated at the fair earlier.”
The fairgrounds’ vaccination site is currently scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, with the initial capacity to vaccinate up to 600 people a day.
“As the allocation of vaccinations increases in the coming weeks, vaccinations on the premises will also increase,” reads the state’s website. “Currently, DOH is working with our private sectors to build the necessary infrastructure to achieve the state’s goal of 45,000 vaccinations per day.”
The state is appealing to people not to go to a vaccination site without an appointment as access is not currently accepted.
Under phase 1A and 1B1, the following persons qualify for vaccination:
* Healthcare staff
* Long-term care residents
* Emergency medical personnel
* Individuals over 65 years
* Individuals older than 50 years live in a multi-generation household

Clark County Public Health, along with Cowlitz and Skamania County, with the assistance of Pacific Northwest Incident Management Team 3 through FEMA, continues efforts to lift vaccinations and open other clinics, along with mobile vaccination units.
