Snowstorm for N. Illinois Tomorrow; Note the consequences near the State Line

MADISON, Wis (WMTV) – The dry sky hampered Saturday night’s snow totals, but most picked up between 1-2 ″ of snow in southern Wisconsin. Total was much lower west of Madison thanks to the drier air. As expected, people along the state line saw the least amount of snow. Attention is drawn to the next weather system that arrives tomorrow from the south-central plain.

The big question is: will we see any of it? From now on it looks far to the south of Wisconsin – especially provinces and towns along the state line can see up to 2 ″ of snow. The total will decrease significantly to Madison, and the snow totals will be sharply cut just north of the Metro. However, models were not consistent with the track of the storm system. Any move north or south can drastically change the snowfall numbers. Light moderate snow can begin Monday night in Madison and last until Tuesday afternoon. Along the state line, the snow can be moderate and sometimes heavy. Higher totals are expected in this region. NW winds will pick up – leading to blowing and drifting snow. Gusty winds can reach 25 km / h.

A winter storm warning was issued tomorrow for counties in northern Illinois. Traveling to Northern Illinois will be difficult after the steady snow begins tomorrow afternoon. No Sunday night news was issued in the counties of Wisconsin. We will continue to closely monitor the trace of the system.

Highlights on Monday will come out in the upper twenties. As the snow clears on Tuesday, clouds remain in place. Wednesday again offers some snowflakes. Congestion and travel effects will be minimal, if any. Sunshine breaks out with high pressure to end the week. The highs climb in the mid-30s by next weekend.
