Siwa initially made her fans wonder on Wednesday when she danced to a video of her dancing and lip-syncing to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” with a rainbow lighting scheme and a rainbow in her hair. She follows the clues with a tweet Friday: ‘My cousin got me a new shirt’, she writes over a phone call from herself in a tea that reads’ Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever. Any lingering mystery solved!
As she explained in Instagram Live on Saturday, she is not yet ready to name her sexuality. “The reason I’m not going to say this answer is because I do not really know this answer,” she said. “I think people are wonderful.” Later in the video, she added: ‘My whole life I was real, I just loved people, but I’ve never fallen in love before. But I always believed that my person was just going to be my person. If that person happened to be a boy, great! And if that person happened to be a girl, great! I think I’m really very happy. I think in life you really know when you meet your person. Siwa also remarked that her ‘parents knew’ and that it ‘was all so’.
‘Right now,’ she emphasizes, ‘what’s important is that you know it does not matter who you love. And that it is wonderful … There are so many people who accept and love people. ”
