LG leaves Android is not good for anyone – except LG

You may not remember it, but LG was an Android power station that earned the best Android phones that money could buy. Phones like the LG G2 have the best use, while cheap and powerful phones like the Optimus G have provided more value for money than anything made today. Choose almost any phone that LG made during that period, and you saw three things:

• This phone is tough as nails.
• This phone is fast fast.
• The version of Android LG built for this phone was trash can.

Now LG is probably done building phones because no money can be made by doing so. Some people from the company say no, others have more information on everything, and other companies are even ready to buy. Whatever happens, it will mean the death of LG as we know it today.

This is not really surprising when you look at what phones sell, how they are sold and why people buy them – and you see that LG loses in every category.

We are an Android site and collectively we know all about Android. Yes, that’s a pretty big and bold statement, but it’s true. Just because we do not write every little technical thing and look at the bigger picture does not mean that we understand all the technical little things. We are also a mobile website and not afraid to talk on the phone, it seems that everyone likes to hate: the iPhone. You can not talk about the impending death of LG’s mobile division without talking about the mobile device.

Mobile has a lot of companies, but there are only three that make all the money.

Mobile as a category of consumer technology is strange. The three companies that own all the mindshare and all the profits are Apple, Google and Samsung. Google likes to make all its money out of the shadows, but if you want to grab your credit card and go out the door to buy the best smartphone you can buy today, you need to make sure you have a variant of a Galaxy S21 or Buy iPhone 12. This is an advice from Android Central, a company that makes all its profits by looking at each phone and evaluating how they do the things Apple and Samsung tell you to do the best smartphone.

But now say you do not care about the best phone on the market and do you just need a good phone? We have a whole “bible” from an Android phone buyer where we evaluate everything from phones to VPN software to accessories that matter. After reading this, chances are you will only get the cheapest one on Amazon that has good ratings, which are probably made by Motorola.

There are many other phones that are great. Google makes some, OnePlus makes others, other Chinese brands you do not know do too. However, it does not matter when it comes to the real thing buy share because the average consumer is going to buy a phone from Samsung, Apple or Motorola.

This is a tough field to play in, and LG sees it. It seems like LG is also ready to be a part of it, and I can not blame the company. LG as a phone manufacturer cannot compete in the present day market unless it is content to lose money on a worrying level. Some companies are for some reason okay with cash bleeding in today’s mobile market. Google likes to spend money on its Pixel vanity project. Yes, I said that. Fight with me. OnePlus can lose money in one section and offset the losses by other parts of the company by offering unique accessories that every OnePlus phone buyer wants.

If you earn the best television on the market, you earn a lot of money to sell it.

LG could go this route because the money it earns for things like smart TVs, smart washing machines or smart sound bars can easily strengthen the smartphone division, but it only makes more sense to mock the smartphone division and keep working with ThinQ products that working within the ecosystems. sell well, such as those offered by Google and Apple. A phone like the LG Wing may be a new idea, but it is also an anchor. LG just does not need that dead weight.

It is true we lose. LG, like all companies that had Android in the form, made things better through its ‘stupid’ ideas. 3D screens on phones, “game phones” with fast but battery-hungry chips from NVIDIA and software to show off the rest when you want to play CoD Mobile are all ideas from LG. And so do rotary phones that look like boomerangs or phones with roll-out screens that have not yet been made.

But so was the first note; it was comically great and “nobody wants a stylus” was the review of every review when it started. Or a folding phone: fragile, extravagant and ‘stupid’ highly priced. We need companies like LG and Samsung to try stupid things, because that’s how you find the one great idea that stays. You’ll never find it from Apple, which thinks that adding an old sensor to a board through the camera is innovative enough. Apple plays it safe; the Samsungs and LGs of the world.

When and how LG throws away its phone division is still a mess in which no one knows what absolute truths are. But it will eventually happen, and we will all be worse off when it comes.
