YouTube star Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg has announced in a new video that he’s doing away with his face comb in an attempt to “stay relevant” with other creators like Dream and Corpse Husband.
Pewds is easily one of the most popular content creators on the internet, but in an effort to retain its relevance, as he put it, the Swede is announcing a major change that will come to his videos and streams in the future.
Fans did not have to worry too much – as Pewds did not announce that he was going to take more time off – but he revealed a big change to his channel: getting rid of his facial comb.

PewDiePie is one of the best creators on YouTube and says he ‘wants to stay relevant’ by removing his facial comb.
In a new video posted on January 23, Pewds announced that he is revealing an “inverted face” AKA to simply get rid of his self-camera and replace it with an avatar like Dream, Corpse Husband or any of the other YouTubers who jumped on the trend.
“I realized that the only way I could stay relevant at this point was to do it,” Kjellberg joked. ‘Lykman: no face comb, no face revealed, very popular. Dream: no face comb, no face revealed, very popular. ”
True to his word for the rest of the video, Pewds removed the camera and used only an icon, but he has not yet decided on a final avatar and is asking for the fans’ help.
“I haven’t chosen my avatar yet, so I realized you guys are not working on the PewDiePie subreddit submissions?” PewDiePie added. “Help me choose my 3D avatar because they all have one.”
Hopefully fans can think of something better than the image Pewds chose for this video, even if it was hilarious – it’s not what you want people to see every time they tune in.
It should also be seen how long PewDiePie will hold this gimmick. Sure, it’s all the rage now with a 3D avatar or no face comb, but one could argue that Kjellberg could probably survive without one.
