Bill Gates, co-founder of billionaire Microsoft, revealed on social media that he had received the first dose of COVID-19. Like many other high-profile individuals who have received the vaccine, Gates uses his experience to encourage the rest of the population to be vaccinated when it is more readily available.
“One of the benefits of 65 is that I’m eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. I got my first dose this week and feel good,” Gates wrote Friday. “Thank you to all the scientists, trial participants, regulators and front-line health workers who have reached us so far.”
Earlier this week, Gates tweeted: “As Americans across the country work together, more people are getting a COVID-19 vaccine every day, bringing us closer to a time when life will look much more normal. Until then, we can “slowing down the spread of the virus and saving lives by continuing to remove and wear masks.”
