What we now know in the 9 Bay Area Provinces

We took a closer look at the effects of vaccines in the San Francisco Bay Area this week and found that while the scarcity of supply remains an issue, provinces and health care providers are beginning to make progress with the infrastructure for implementation, including the introduction of ‘ a dashboard with vaccinating data on vaccines or creating a mass vaccine site.

  • Provinces administer vaccines based on the state’s priority framework, which is based on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  • Although the departments of health care are responsible for carrying out the plans of the state, they make the final decision on when different groups of people get the vaccine.
  • Provincial health departments are set to vaccinate people without health plans or those who do not have access to the vaccine elsewhere. If you have health insurance, contact your healthcare provider.
  • While the state of California has given provinces and health care providers the green light to vaccinate individuals age 65 and older, the general lack of vaccine provision makes it difficult for health care workers to administer vaccines to all the elderly immediately.

SFGATE has reported to the nine provinces in the Bay Area for its implementation. Here’s what we found.
