Dustin Diamond completed his first round of chemo after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer … according to his team.
The “Saved by the Bell” star is still in hospital and doing everything in his power to handle his diagnosis … which according to his team TMZ is stage 4 small cell carcinoma.
It is usually called advanced lung cancer, but in the case of Dustin … we are told that the cancer started elsewhere in his body and was metastasized in his lungs. His next round of chemo is planned soon.
His team says he will also start with physical therapy, adding that Dustin maintains a positive outlook and looks forward to spending more time with his girlfriend. We are told that he also enjoys playing his bass guitar (learning songs from Tool and Foo Fighters) and video games … and making videos for his fans on social media.
We broke the story … Diamond, best known for playing Screech in the hitcom ’90 sitcom, was admitted to hospital earlier this month in Florida after feeling pain all over his body and a general feeling of discomfort.
From the beginning there was concern he had cancer because of his family history, and unfortunately … this concern became a narrow reality.
Dustin’s team says he received a bunch of fan mail wishing him strength, and he read it in the hospital to give courage.
Get well, scream!
