Canon Introduces CE-SAT-1 Satellite Interactive Experience

Japanese photography giant Canon has launched a new interactive website that gives you the chance to take ‘photos’ from space.

The new website, unveiled at CES 2021, is based on Canon’s wide barrel satellite, the CE-SAT-1, which was launched into space in June 2017. The satellite has a PowerShot S110 and an EOS 5D Mark III DSLR. with a 4020 Cassegrain-type 3720mm telescope, and the company claims that images at a 375-mile orbit enter about 36-inch resolution within a 3 × 2-mile frame.

The entire experience on the site is narrated by astronaut Marsha Ivins, who explains what the satellite is used for and how it was designed and built.
