Here is where Bergen Co. COVID vaccines announced

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ – New Jersey has expanded the number of publicly listed COVID-19 vaccination sites and the state continues to announce new locations in Bergen County and elsewhere (see the county’s list of vaccination sites below).

Judith Persichilli, health commissioner, said the state plans to increase the number of vaccination sites to more than 300. Government officials said the goal is to vaccinate 70% of the adult population by spring.

Government Phil Murphy also announced that the state had just exceeded 200,000 vaccinations across the country. He also announced that New Jersey has created a county-by-province vaccination center that reports the number of vaccinations in the state.

“We work strategically and efficiently to vaccinate our leading health professionals, law enforcement and firefighters and long-term care residents and staff,” he said.

Murphy was on hand Wednesday at the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center for vaccination efforts at the annex there.

Health officials said not all sites are publicly listed because some are not open to the public, such as prisons and psychiatric hospitals.

Persichilli said there is not much vaccine available in New Jersey at the moment, but she expects it to change soon. The incoming presidential government of Biden has said it intends to greatly expand the number of vaccinations available to the American public.

Persichilli said the state administered at least 36 percent of the allotted vaccine doses. Hospitals have vaccinated at least 50 percent of their health workers.

Her hope is to continue expanding the number of “mega-sties” in conference centers and large spaces, with the goal of vaccinating 1,000 people a day.
