Covid UK vaccine: Number of vaccinations catches covid cases and deaths – side effect

The latest daily number of coronavirus cases in the UK was 41,346 on Saturday 16 January. The number of deaths in the last 28 days is 1,295. However, 3,559,179 people in the UK received their first dose of the vaccine. The jab was administered in hospitals, GP clinics, main street pharmacies, care homes and vaccination centers. The government aims to vaccinate everyone in the most vulnerable groups by mid-February. This will include:

  • All residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
  • All age 80 and older and health and social care workers
  • All 75 years and older
  • All ages 70 years and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals

“Most side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine are mild and should not last more than a week,” the NHS assured.

Side effects of the covid jab may include:

  • A sore arm where the emergency went in
  • feel tired
  • A headache
  • Ache
  • Feeling sick

Warn healthcare professionals if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction (known as anaphylaxis) before being vaccinated.

You should also not have the vaccine if you have ever had a severe reaction to a previous vaccine, some medicines, household products or cosmetics.

In addition, if you have had a severe allergic reaction to the first vaccine (of the same kind), do not get the second sting.

Although severe allergic reactions are rare, an allergic reaction to the vaccine will usually occur within minutes of the jab.

For this reason, you are asked to wait 15 minutes before continuing with your day.

Staff will be trained to immediately detect and treat people suffering from allergic reactions.

If you have had the covide vaccine and experienced any other side effects, you can report it using the Coronavirus Yellow Card Security Scheme.

“The first dose of COVID-19 vaccine should provide you with good protection against coronavirus,” the NHS said.

“But you need to have the two doses of the vaccine to provide longer protection.”

After the first jab, people may have to wait up to 12 weeks to get their second jab.
