Here’s what’s happening in the world of television on Sunday, January 17th. All times are Eastern.

Top choice

Bat (The CW, 8pm, season two premiere): Bat comes back tonight, but Kate Kane does not. After the departure of the original series, Ruby Rose (allegedly due to long hours and consequent friction and frustration), The CW and the Bat team decides not to play the role of Kate again. Instead, there is a new crusader in the city. Meet Ryan Wilder (and Javicia Leslie, the actor takes the hood.)

Alani Vargas will drop by Gotham for a premiere exam.

More from TV Club

Tiger (HBO, 9 p.m., finale): “The grainy black-and-white footage from Woods’ 2017 DUI arrest is haunting Tiger, and if you’re just comfortable with his career, it’s understandable if you assume while watching that this is the tragic end of it. What plays out in the documentary makes Woods’ 2018 return, when he won the PGA Tour after five years of drought, seem unlikely, almost fantastic, but Tiger Woods still had a few miracles left in him. Tiger effectively reminds us why we found the legend of Tiger Woods so compelling, while never losing sight of his intricate humanity. ” Read the rest of Stephen Robinson’s review.

Regular coverage

American Gods (Starz, 20:00)
Vikings (Amazon): binge coverage is shut down

Wildcard

Miss Scarlet & The Duke (Masterpiece Mysteries on PBS, 20:00, series premiere): Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders) plays the role of Eliza Scarlet, who after his death takes over her father’s private detective business and solves crimes with her attractive Scotland Yard girlfriend named The Duke. If this show is for you, it’s very for you. (This is a lot for us.)

Within the mind of Agatha Christie (PBS, 10pm): And while you’re in a ladies ‘and criminals’ mood, PBS also has an hour to work inside one of the greats.
