More than 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. According to the state Department of Health Services, the amount of COVID-19 vaccine doses in Wisconsin is more than 200,000.

As of Friday afternoon, 213,056 doses had been administered throughout the country. Government Tony Evers said pharmacies could immediately start supplying the vaccine to aid sites. To speed up the deployment process, DHS and the Wisconsin National Guard will also launch mobile vaccination teams next week.

In addition to focusing on vaccination efforts, Evers has announced plans to issue a new public health order and extend the mandate for the entire mask.

The positive percentage of new COVID-19 tests continued with a downward trend, with the seven-day positive percentage for new tests per person dropping to 25.9%. The equivalent of seven days for total tests per day also dropped to 8.5%.

State and provincial health officials recorded 2,246 * new cases of the virus, which is lower than the seven-day average of 2,319. The state has reached a lifetime total of 518,603 * confirmed cases, and nearly 28,000 cases remain active. According to DHS data, most provinces in the state are designated with a ‘very high’ level of activity for the spread of diseases.

At least 5,411 * have died from coronavirus complications since the onset of the pandemic, with 33 * new deaths confirmed on Friday. The worldwide death toll has exceeded 2 million.

DHS officials said 119 people were admitted to the hospital between Thursday and Friday. With nearly 11,000 hospital beds in the state, 18% are available for new patients.
