It seems like everyone with a Netflix account praised ‘Bridgerton’, the Regency-era drama based on the Julia Quinn book series of the same name.
And now the show has the official royal stamp of approval of Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and ex-wife of Prince Andrew. While Ferguson spoke to Us Weekly about her latest novel, “Her Heart for a Compass,” she tells us that she’s just as in love with “Bridgerton” as the rest of us.
“I loved ‘Bridgerton’ so much that I intentionally watched it twice. I’m obsessed with it,” she said. “I think Daphne is a great character because we see how she learns about life. I like the way she learns to use her strong voice. It characterized me because now is the time for women to talk. “

While it is not everyone Ferguson agreed with Daphne’s arc in the program, and he also praised some less controversial aspects of the program. “The costumes and set designs were also incredible,” Ferguson said. “The way Betsy Beers and Shonda Rhimes created ‘Bridgerton’ is fantastic and I was really impressed,” she continued.

Like the rest of us, Ferguson is waiting impatiently for news for a second season. According to her, the Shondaland series could be filmed in her former home.
“I hear they’re going to make future series at Sunninghill Park for the next five years, which is my old house,” she told Us Weekly.

As the series portrays a more fantastic version of British high society as ‘The Crown’, it’s not shocking that a member of the royal family would enjoy the show – even if Ferguson said she enjoyed ‘The Crown’ as well. “I thought it was beautifully filmed. The filmmaking was excellent,” she said. ‘I also loved the way they presented my wedding.
