Kings Canyon is back in Apex Legends—With a turn. The first arena of the Battle Royale has started spinning again and this brings the Mirage Voyage, which is now drifting across the Broken Coast. Players can tour the arena until January 21st.

This event is the first time that players can dive into the normal rotation in the arena since the latest season kicked off on November 4th. Respawn took Kings Canyon out of the loop with the launch of Apex‘s latest map, Olympus. But now, the map has returned early.

The rotation allows players to fall into the latest version of Kings Canyon, but with a twist: The Mirage Voyage floats across The Broken Coast where Skull Town used to be. The areas with the latest map updates, including Crypto’s Map Room, Salvage and Capacitor, are also normally available.

The Mirage Voyage appeared as part of Mirage’s Town Takeover during the Holo-Day Bash in 2019. It was parked in the northwest corner of World’s Edge until the sweeping season saw six map updates, which took the train out, added three new PVBs and the Voyage removed from the arena.

Town takeovers are usually permanent additions to maps, and travel used to be an exception to the rule. With its new home in Kings Canyon, however, it looks like Respawn Town Takeovers will still maintain the game indefinitely, even if the developers move the location just a bit.

Kings Canyon will not be part of the regular rotation for the time being. The card’s short-lived surprise appearance is only live until 21 January. It gives players about a week to experience again Apex‘s first card – at least until it’s likely to come again in the coming season.
