Cyberpunk 2077 is a buggy mess for some and completely unplayable for others. Developer CD Project Red has already promised fixes and a next console upgrade, but has now announced exactly when we would expect them to arrive.
The co-founder of CD Projekt Red, Marcin Iwiński, released a video outlining what fans can expect from Cyberpunk 2077 in the course of 2021, and also apologized for the poor performance on PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
The game has already received a number of corrections to solve the most urgent problems, but Iwiński promises that it will not stop there. Several spots, large and small, are underway, with the first landing in just ten days. A major and major update follows shortly thereafter.
Corrections also mean delays in CDPR’s original plan for free DLC. The developer initially planned to start releasing it immediately after launch – as was the case with the Witcher 3. Instead, fixes took precedence, and there is currently free DLC. Iwiński has promised that more information will be available in the coming months.
As for PS5 and Xbox Series X players, your next generation update is coming in the second half of the year. Although we never found out exactly when Cyberpunk 2077 would get the next release of the next generation, it would not be a surprise if it was also pushed back to the disastrous launch of the game.
We already know that there is also a multiplayer mode, but since CDPR kept the details under surveillance, we can not say much about it. That said, dataminers have discovered some multiplayer code, which demonstrates at least two different game modes (Heist and Deathmatch), plus the possibility of P2P connections rather than sending everything through a dedicated multiplayer server.
Although we lack some details, it is clear that Cyberpunk 2077 still has a long way to go. Here’s just hoping the game’s performance and bugs will be fixed sooner rather than later.
