In Bungie’s first blog post of the year, the studio stepped back a bit Destiny 2underwent weapons and armor from the end of last year. From February, players can once again earn some old weapons and armor in the Dreaming City and the Moon.
From season 13 – which starts according to the countdown clock in the game on February 9 – eight weapons and two armor sets will return from Desolate and Shadow. Players who already own these weapons or armor pieces must earn them back in their unlimited form.
- Waking Vigil, Sleepless, Vouchsafe, and Retold Tale from the Dreaming City
- Heretic, blasphemer and apostate from the moon
- Premonition will also be on the moon, but exclusively for the pit of heretics
- The armor of Reverie Dawn from the Dreaming City
- The Dreambane Armor from the Dreaming City
According to Bungie’s blog post, it sounds like players have never before been able to get roles from these weapons from their respective dungeons – Shattered Throne in the Dreaming City and Pit of Heresy on the Moon. The armor pieces will also fall with very high stats from the dungeons.

Bungie completed this section of his blog post, saying that not every weapon from older destinations like this will return to the outer pool. But with these reissues, players should have more reasons to spend time on the Moon or in the Dreaming City. This announcement comes after some major frustrations plagued by the Destiny community after-Out of the light.
When Destiny 2: Beyond Light launched last November, Bungie has implemented its infusion cover system. Players could no longer inflict weapons that were more than a year old. Infusion is a process involving the propulsion of a low-power weapon, which results in the low-power weapon gaining power. These activities have become virtually unusable for activities that require high levels of power such as the raids of Osiris or Nightfalls.
Almost all the weapons of the Desolate and Shadow extensions saw an infusion shell in November, although both extensions were still on sale. This caused a point of frustration where new players had no loot incentives to play through these expansions, which meant they could only spend their money to get a handful of exotic commands and no legendary loot.
Destiny 2‘s game director Luke Smith recently told Polygon that the studio is exploring ways to improve sunset. Although the studio still deems it necessary, it causes some pain points and unexpected behavior in the community. Bungie will continue with sunset throughout the year.
