NJ Governor Phil Murphy presents COVID update, visits a third mega-website for vaccinations. How to watch live today. (15 January 2021)

Government Phil Murphy is visiting another of the state’s six coronavirus vaccination sites on Friday morning and is holding another press conference this afternoon to provide additional updates on the state’s efforts to control the virus.

Murphy will be at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison at 10 a.m. when another mega-website is launched. Judy Persichilli, US Representative Frank Pallone, D-6th Dist., Speaker of the Assembly, Craig Coughlin, D-Middlesex, Director of the Middlesex Province Board of Commissioners, Ronald Rios, and Police Spokesman Colonel Pat Callahan, will join him.

Murphy’s tour of the site will be broadcast live on the governor’s YouTube.com channel.

At 1 p.m., Murphy, Persichilli, Callahan and dr. Edward Lifshitz, the medical director of the state’s communicable diseases, at the Trenton War Memorial for their regular press conference on Friday. It can also be viewed on Murphy’s YouTube.com channel.

Vaccination mega sites at Rockaway Townsquare and Rowan College in South Jersey in Sewell are already up and running. The mega-website at the Moorestown Mall also opened Friday. The other planned mega-venues are at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford and the Atlantic City Conference Center.

In total, as of Thursday, there were 128 vaccination sites in the state with more than 250 plans.

At least 300,213 in New Jersey were vaccinated from 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the state’s COVID-19 dashboard. Of these, 264,556 are the first doses.

The number of patients in the state’s 71 hospitals with the coronavirus or a case under investigation has decreased in the previous 24 hours to 3,433 from 3,639. Hospitalizations have decreased by more than 5% in the last ten days and are the lowest since January 2nd.

Murphy on Thursday released 5,967 COVID-19 cases and 94 additional deaths.

Officials said about 14.2% of the 20,717 tests administered in New Jersey on Sunday came back positive, the last day for which results are available.
