White House Coronavirus Task Force Report Places Duval County in Red Area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Florida is in ‘full revival of COVID-19’, according to the latest White House Coronavirus Task Force report, which predicts more deaths.

The report, which was sent to the Florida government on Sunday, Ron DeSantis, also said that the virus has a greater spread in most parts of the state. The report places Duval County in the red zone, meaning Jacksonville, like most of the state, sees more than 100 cases per 100,000 residents.

“Florida has tested an increase in new cases, positivity and hospitalizations, and is back in COVID-19 revival,” the report said. ‘Almost all metro areas of more than 500 000 people are in full revival and aggressive action must meet this increasing community spread in our large metro areas. Metros that continued to improve after Thanksgiving have now been destabilized. ”

This week, Florida became the third state to accept 1.5 million cases of COVID-19 and had a 66% increase in new cases over the past week.

The task force also warns about the rapidly spreading variant of the virus identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Of the 76 cases identified in Florida, 22 were found in Florida.

Apart from the rapid vaccination of the elderly population and those with underlying health conditions, the team recommends a stronger, focused message to the public.

‘Florida needs to increase mitigation in the country as well as local public. Increase communication about the importance of personal mitigation with masking, physical distance and the avoidance of family gatherings, ”the report reads.

The report says that increasing vaccinations is a problem, but it also emphasizes the importance of continued proactive testing.

It even recommends that all K-12 teachers, older students, and those at colleges and universities be tested weekly, as it dramatically reduces the spread of the virus in those locations and reduces the need for contact detection.
