(CNN Español) – The Commissioner of the Police of Puerto Rico, Antonio López Figueroa, affirmed that he was a homeless man during the murder of Martes in Santurce, near San Juan, the person in charge of three police officers passed by.
López Figueroa identified the individual as David E. Rivera Batiz.
For his part, the coronel Rolando Trinidad, Commissioner Auxiliar de Criminal Investigations, explained that the medians are taking photos through the media and a member of the Police. Todos confirm a Rivera Batiz as the head of the hechos.
The dead police are the state police agent Luis Marrero Díaz and the municipal police agents Luis Salamán Conde and Eliezer Hernández Cartagena.
“In the case of my police officers, there is no other person involved in the crime”, said López following the Twitter account of the Puerto Rican Police Negotiator, adding that there were no other suspects involved in the crime.
The incident occurred on Monday when police conducted a vehicle intervention on the Baldorioty de Castro Express in the Carolina municipality, north of Puerto Rico.
According to the police reporter, during the late morning, state agents along with Carolina municipal police conducted a vehicle intervention, occupying the occupants of a crashing vehicle against the police, while the police intercepted an exchange in which results result from the Carolina municipal police and other state agents.
