Real Madrid vs Athletics – Supercopa Possible Unai Nunez handball at a standstill
Yet more VAR controversy arose in downtime of Real Madrid’s elimination of Supercopa de Espana against Athletic Club on Thursday.
Unai Nunez, on his way to the ground after a struggle with Marco Asensio, apparently handled the ball, but the game continued until Sergio Ramos goes to the ground in search of a punishment.
VAR has started a review and the focus seems to be on the incident Ramos. However, it was the handball incident that was investigated, although it was not shown in the live broadcast of the match.
Asensio commented on the incident himself after the match.
“It hit him on the hand,” the wing said.
But after more than a minute, the decision was made that there was no handball, and the game continued.
