CD Projekt Red co-founder apologizes for the unfortunate condition of ‘Cyberpunk 2077’

Iwiński further explained, from his perspective, how the game started with so many bugs on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, that it often could not be played. A week after the game’s release date, Sony completely removes it from the PlayStation Store and offers a refund to anyone who wants it. Microsoft has also offered a refund to aggrieved Xbox players, and CD Project Red is facing legal action over allegations that it is misleading investors and players.

In the video, Iwiński essentially said that the team was too ambitious with the PC version of the game, which served as the basis for the console version and apparently gave too much tax for the eighth generation hardware. The power system in the game was a constant headache for the console team and developers, according to Iwiński, missed a lot of bugs while testing the different versions.

In addition to the apology video, CD Projekt Red posted a written version of Iwiński’s statements as a series of questions, and also shared that the free upgrade of the next console of the game will land in the second half of 2021.
