Last January, Google introduced the existing gas mode feature, which connects people who are not in your Wi-Fi network, to a Chromecast or smart speaker by entering a four-digit PIN from its Home and Nest devices, because some people and pets could hear the ultrasonic frequencies that the two devices use to couple. Today, at the height of online privacy efforts the company first announced in October, users will be able to turn off the voice recording features of their smart screen and speaker, such as the Nest Audio or Nest Hub Max, by simply telling them.
This new gas mode is basically like Chrome’s Incognito tabs. Enabling it will prevent you from incorporating Google Assistant interactions into your account. This can be helpful, even if you are not verbally involved with your Assistant. To begin with, this means that the interaction between friends and family with your smart devices does not affect the personalized assistant experience that you have gradually put together.
