Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed how far Marvel has planned for the upcoming series of Marvel Cinematic Universe TV shows and movies.
“In varying degrees of specificity, it’s always about 5 to 6 years compared to what we announced,” Fiege told Collider as he spoke to WandaVision on a press day. “Wherever we go.”
The MCU covers an incredible amount of intertwined stories through its films. With the launch of WandaVision on Disney + and other future planned shows like Hawkeye, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and She-Hulk that will exist within the same film universe, it goes without saying that the planning will have to take some time. For example, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame were both planned in 2014 when Guardians of the Galaxy was first released.

Since Feige and Marvel are planning five to six years in advance, the studio is already considering what will happen in the MCU in 2025 and 2026. Speculation suggests that mutants will play a major role in the future of the MCU. Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox brought the X-Men and all the accompanying mutants back into the Marvel stable. Asked how the mutants are going to make their debut, Feige said: “It’s been discussed a lot, as you think. And we have a good sense of where it’s going and when it’s going, but everything has yet to be seen. “
Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision plays Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The series will air on January 15 on Disney +.
