Jared Leto’s ‘Morbius’ Delays Release Date

Sony has starred in the scene of ‘Morbius’, the comic strip featuring Jared Leto, while studios are still grappling with the impact of the pandemic on the film industry.

The movie, which has been delayed several times amid the COVID-19 crisis, would have recently appeared on March 19th. The premiere is now on October 8 in theaters.

Most movies planned earlier in 2021 have already been pushed back due to the pandemic. However, there are still several titles on the calendar for the first few months of the year, including ‘Cinderella’ (also from Sony) by Camila Cabello on February 5 and ‘The King’s Man’ on Disney and 20th Century on March 12. Oddly enough, Sony does not mention the plans for ‘Cinderella’ in Monday’s announcement, but it’s unlikely that the fantasy adaptation will retain its release date in February unless it’s sent to a streaming service or early on the best video. -on-request ended up.

“Morbius” was directed by Daniel Espinos and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The superhero movie, based on the Marvel Comics character, focuses on a biochemist who becomes a vampire after trying to cure himself of a rare blood disease. Leto plays Michael Morbius in a cast that includes Matt Smith, Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson.

Morbius, the infamous Spider-Man enemy, comes from Sony’s arsenal of Marvel characters. While Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man” movies have ties to the Disney-owned Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony is trying to introduce its own interconnected comic book world to Leto’s anti-hero and Venom, the strange symbiote portrayed by Tom Hardy. ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, a sequel to the studio’s surprise hit in 2018, is expected to be released on June 25, 2021 – although the delay of ‘Morbius’ could change plans.
