Targus is a manufacturer of accessories that has been around for a long time, and its range of CES products this year focuses on three main themes: portability, sustainability and of course staying healthy during a pandemic (via Engadget).

The company’s banner products for the health of the pandemic are the 2Office antimicrobial backpack and the UV-C LED disinfectant light. The light is designed to sit above your keyboard and mouse and bathe it in UV-C light to eliminate microorganisms that can shoot around on your touch devices. It automatically turns on for five minutes every hour, but you do not have to worry about it interrupting your work: it uses motion sensors to detect whether you are using your computer, and will wait for the cleaning cycle to begin until you are gone.
If you are not interested in a UV light to clean your keyboard and mouse (it can be used for anything), Targus has also announced that it works on antimicrobial mice and keyboards.

The 2Office backpack, which can hold laptops up to 17.3 inches, has an antimicrobial layer on ‘key touch points’. The bag can be useful if you have to go out in a pandemic, but I can think of other uses of an antimicrobial bag when the journey begins again. (Who else felt weird hanging their backpack on a bathroom door?) If you do not want a brand new backpack, the company has also announced antimicrobial tablet cabinets, along with antimicrobial privacy screens for certain computer monitors.
The company also announced a dock and a robust case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3.. The dock uses Samsung’s DeX software to connect the tablet to a monitor for a more desktop-like experience. For iPad owners, Targus has also announced an EcoSmart cover made from recycled materials.
Finally, Targus has announced new antimicrobial privacy screens, which cost between $ 35 and $ 185, depending on the devices for which they are intended. The screens are now available, with the rest of the announced devices coming this spring. There are currently no prices or exact dates provided for it.
