Syracuse, NY – Kinney Drugs becomes the first drug store chain in Central New York to offer the Covid-19 vaccine.
The chain only makes appointments for people 75 years and older, as approved by the State of New York.
You can sign up at this site for appointments, which start Thursday in some places.
Kinney will present the recordings at all of his 75 locations in New York. Of these, 16 are in Onondaga County.
By 10:30, some Kinney stores had booked all the appointments for January and were planning for February. Kinney will inject the vaccine manufactured by Moderna. You need a second chance 28 days after the first; that appointment is scheduled when you first get it.
The vaccinations are free. You must bring a driver’s license or other form of identification to prove that you are at least 75.
Today is the first day that approximately 1.4 million New Yorkers 75 and older are eligible for the vaccines under the state’s vaccination program. Preschool and K-12 teachers, first responders, correctional officers and other essential workers in the foreground are also eligible.
Vaccinations are also available at the New York State Fairgrounds, the War Memorial and other locations.
