‘Jess and the City’ star Sarah Jessica Parker on Kim Cattrall

Sarah Jessica Parker responded to the question that each Sex and the city a fan said after Sunday’s announcement that a new version of the show would begin soon: How does she feel about the absence of actress Kim Cattrall, who played the brave and often hilarious Samantha Jones?

This happened just after SJP shared the teaser trailer for And not so …, the new series that follows the characters, played by Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who are now navigating life in their 50s. Scenes from New York City flash along with the voice of the character of Parker, sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw, as she says the title of the series, a phrase she was familiar with when working on her laptop. The original was broadcast six seasons, from 1998 to 2004.

When one fan wrote in the comments that Parker and Cattrall “do not like each other”, Parker revealed that there is no hostility on her part.

“No. I do not like her. I have never said that. Never would,” Parker wrote. “Samantha is not [sic] part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do. ”

After someone else said, “Happy to see you back, but will miss Kim / Samantha,” Parker replied that the cast feels the same way.

“We will too,” Parker wrote. “We loved her so much.”

SJP, in response to a third fan who said she would miss Samantha, added: “She will always be there.”

Her comment to another who asked about the remake of the role of Samantha was: “We have some new stories to tell.”

Although many were disappointed to hear the official confirmation that Cattrall will not be part of the new show, it is not a surprise. She did not want to participate in a third film shooting reports that she’s a diva.

In October 2017, Cattrall told Piers Morgan that she and co-stars Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon have always been strict collaborators. “We’ve never been friends,” Cattrall said. “We’ve been colleagues before, and in some ways it’s a very healthy place to be.”

During an appearance on Watch what happens to Andy Cohen live, Parker said she was ‘just sad’ by Cattrall’s remark.

“I found it very disturbing because it’s not the way I remember our experience,” Parker said in January 2018. ‘It’s sad, but I always think it’s our unique experience. It was a professional experience, but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives, so I hope that kind of obscures something that was talked about recently. ‘

Although there is no release date yet, production is underway And not so … will be expected to start in late spring.
