Lana Del Rey explains ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ album cover: “We are all a beautiful mix of everything”

Lana Del Rey elaborated on the cover art of her upcoming album ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’, and seems to be responding to criticism about the diversity of the group of people he portrays.

The singer unveiled the artwork and playlist for the record late Sunday night (January 10). It features Del Rey and a number of other women who gathered around a table smiling.

She also left an Instagram comment about the cover art and started the message: ‘I want to say the same with everything that is going on this year! And no, that’s not a euphemism for something else, my dear friends.

‘And damn! As far as my incredible friends and this cover are concerned, there are coloreds in this plate photo and that’s all I’ll say about it, ‘Del Rey added.

Among the people on the cover, she writes, were “Valerie from Del Rio Mexico, my beloved friend Alex and my beautiful friend Dakota Rain as well as my beloved Tatiana”.

‘We are all a beautiful mix of everything – some more than others that are visible and celebrated in everything I do. In 11 years of work, I have always been extremely inclusive without even trying. ”

She goes on to write, “My best friends are rappers, my boyfriends were rappers.”

‘My dearest friends were from everywhere, so before you comment on a WOC / POC issue again, it’s not me who’s storming the capital, I’m literally changing the world by putting my life and thoughts and love out there the table 24 seven. Respect it. ”

It is not clear who provided the criticism to which Del Rey responded, and whether the statement was entirely beneficial.

Last May, Del Rey drew criticism for an Instagram post she made in which she rebuffed allegations that she was ‘abusing’ her music. In her post, she named a number of female artists in pop and hip-hop – including Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Kehlani, Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé – who she said had ‘numbered with songs’ about sexy be, wear no clothes, fuck, cheat, etc. ”.

She added: ‘With all the topics women are finally allowed to explore, I just want to say for the last ten years, I think it’s pathetic that my little lyrical exploration of my sometimes submissive or passive roles in my relationships has often made people say we has set women back hundreds of years. ”

She later denied that her message was an attack on the artists she mentioned, most of whom are women of color, and grabbed a striking headline that grabbed critics. [who] can not read and wants to make it a race war “and claims that the singers she mentioned were some of her favorite artists. She also posted a video message in which she discussed” the need for fragility in the feminist movement “and further claims that her post is racist.

‘I’m not the enemy, and I’m definitely not a racist. No one can tell your story except you, and that’s what I’m going to do in the next few books. So god bless, and, yes, fuck off if you do not like the message, ”she said.
