Rep. Nunes asks to investigate major tech companies following Parler Ban

A leading Republican in the House of Representatives on Sunday called for an investigation into hooliganism at major technology companies that took action against Parler, a social media website, over the weekend.

‘This is clearly a violation of antitrust, civil rights and the RICO law. A hooliganism must be investigated for all the people who coordinated this attack on not only a company, but also on everyone like us, like me, Maria, ” Rep. Devin Nunes (R-California), the rank member of the House Intelligence Committee, told Fox News news agency Maria Bartiromo.

After Twitter banned President Donald Trump and some other users, Parler saw the traffic explode. However, Google soon announced that it had removed Parler from its online store, a step followed by Apple. Then Amazon announced that Parler was being suspended from its web hosting services.

Parler CEO John Matze told The Epoch Times his company was prepared to take legal action, but in the meantime authorities needed to investigate the possible coordinated actions, Nunes argued.

“The effect of this is that there is no longer a free and open social media venture or website for any American to go any further,” he said, as Amazon, Google and Apple destroyed “Parler Pass”.

“It’s ridiculous. “So I do not know where the justice department is now or the FBI,” he added.

Nunes also said the CEOs of the companies should be prosecuted. He also said that he had talked to fellow members of Congress and that they were examining their legal options. And he also appealed to the Supreme Court and federal judges to intervene and intervene.

The Department of Justice, Apple, Google and Amazon did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
