SALT LAKE CITY – Utah is currently among the top five worst states in the US in terms of the average daily COVID-19 rate.

According to the latest data provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Utah’s average daily incidence per 100,000 is 98.3 fifth in the country.
Arizona is number 1 on the list and is considered ‘the hottest hot spot’ for the coronavirus, according to ABC News. Along with Rhode Island, Arizona has higher positive COVID-19 rates than any country in the world.
The Utah Department of Health on Sunday reported 2,276 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths. Utah’s seven-day moving average of positive cases now stands at 31.5%.
The state has distributed more than 100,000 vaccines to residents.
“Hey, Utah, we’re going in the wrong direction.” tweeted Jess Gomez, Intermountain Healthcare official, Sunday.
