(CNN) –– The 2020 presidential election will go down in history. After a long campaign in the midst of a global pandemic, former President Joe Biden slammed President Donald Trump and President Donald Trump by a wide margin in the popular vote and decisive content in the Electoral College.
Following the 20th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, the mandate of a President will end on the 20th of September. Pero Trump, who questioned the results of the elections during these months, said he would not assist in the position of his successor.
History has some indications of how long it will be before the change of mandate in 2021. In the past, its three presidents will have been assisting in the position of their successors. Treated by John Adams in 1801, John Quincy Adams in 1829 and Andrew Johnson in 1869. In small form including sentences, these cases proportionate an example of what can follow in the current political climate divide.
At times very polarized, when questioning the results of an election, the negative of a salient president assisting in the new mandate’s vacancy has provoked surprising results for the country. In the three cases, the leader enters the very popular governing body and wins mandates.
Everything can be a big deal for Biden’s political future.
Here are the three salient presidential candidates who will boycott the position of his successor:
John Adams (1801)

President John Adams
The 1800 election was one of the largest in the history of the country. President John Adams, in office, sought a second term. Sondeverbod, introduced the powerful challenge of his vice president, Thomas Jefferson. Además, hubo un scenarios aún peor para Adams: la popular opinion established en su contra. Thus, the defense that the highly divisive Leyes on Foreign Affairs and Seduction of 1798, which restrained the activities of foreign citizens and restricted the freedom of expression and pressure, was established.
The voting process was equally complicated. Prior to the approval of Enmienda 12 in 1803, which regulates the selection process, voters will not vote on a sole form of two votes for individuals. In the manner in which the Presidency and the Vice-Presidency decide, in favor of women, the mayor will receive the number of votes and the second mayor the term of office.
The result in 1800? An empathy between Jefferson and his formula partner Aaron Burr. This means that the decision of the election will be transferred to the Chamber of Representatives. While this, the relationship between Adams and Jefferson continues to be very cordial. Jefferson co-owned with John and Abigail Adams at Casa Blanca this year.
Is a reconciliation possible? “Senor, the election event is within its power,” Jefferson told Adams in February. Pero Adams refused to interfere in the vote of the Chamber. With more than 30 votes cast, the Chamber of Representatives ultimately decided to favor Jefferson.
President Adams decided not to assist the successor to his successor. In this sense, Washington’s city council on March 4, 1801. In the decision not to take Jefferson’s position, Adams quizzes were motivated by the desire to lower the political temperature in the capital.
The resulting Pacific transfer of power from Adams to Jefferson ironically denounced the “Revolution of 1800”. After delivering a conciliatory discourse on the subject, Jefferson began the honorable tradition of marching from the Capitol to the White House. And tender mandates in the cargo.
The period that followed was the Jeffersonian Era and its followers the Jeffersonian Republicans. The enactment of this group in agrarian republicanism, the governing body limited and the rights of the states resounded until the day of high.
John Quincy Adams (1829)

President John Quincy Adams
John Quincy Adams followed in the footsteps of his father in many ways. As secretary of state for the presidency, James Monroe, sought to obtain the presidency by right proposition in 1824. Pero enfrentó multiple rivals, and especially Andrew Jackson and Henry Clay.
Jackson represents the most serious amenity. In another parallel to Jefferson’s father’s relationship, Quincy Adams is currently pursuing a political ally with Jackson. But the relationships were quite considerable when the men were found competing for the same cargo in 1824.
Jackson won the popular vote and the election, but the mayor did not sign any of the columns. With the comics in play, Clay’s electors change their backs to Adams. Y, the House of Representatives voted to elect Adams as the next president. Después, Jackson states that in 1828 they had a ‘trato corrupto’ and prometió postularse nuevamente.
The election of 1828 presented a controversial revenge between the two men. Y Jackson is a como el claro vencedor esta vez. Although his father was older than he was, Quincy Adams’ intention was to maintain cordial relations with the incoming president, albeit with little success. Quincy Adams reviewed the use of the White House for the vacancies, while Jackson rejected the proposal.
The way Quincy Adams left Casa Blanca on the night of March 3, the day before Jackson’s inauguration. New, like his father, deliberately decided not to assist his successor investor.
But Quincy Adams was unable to retain the popular democracy he had left in office. In the following years, suffrage was extended to all white men. The massive participation in the political culture of the era revived a second bipartisan system of Democrats and whigs. Jackson completes the mandates in the cargo and marks the pawns for the Democratic presidents during a generation.
The “Jackson Era” will be released at this time. Including when its most verfoeilik characteristics have limited its significance.
Andrew Johnson (1869)

President Andrew Johnson
Vice President Andrew Johnson took over the presidency from President Abraham Lincoln’s assistant in 1865. Y, the new mandate was compromised to obstruct the Republican Congress in any case. Without embarrassment, despite its popular appeal, it failed to secure the Republican Party’s candidacy for the presidency in 1868 and included political action by the House of Representatives.
In November 1868, he elected President Ulysses S. Grant, Johnson’s nemesis, for the presidency with an electoral margin. Gr el debía su escasa mayor of 300 000 photos of the libertos en los estados del sur.
Following the victory of Grant’s victoria-election, Johnson was obstinately assisted on March 4. On the contrary, permanent in the White House for law enforcement companies. Asimismo, Grant rejected the idea of traveling in the same way that Johnson.
The case does not address the Grant administration and its policy of vigorous support for the Reconstruction in the South. It was easily reorganized in 1872 for a second term. With the exception of Grover Cleveland’s mandates in the cargo, the Republicans dominated the White House until 1913.
Grant’s proposition follows being a defensive firm of civil rights of the liberated persons in the sur, including when the corruption plagues his governor. Looking at his problems, recent biographies he rehabilitated Grant’s years in the cargo. The era of the Reconstruction was also reformed as the great experiment of the United States in democracy.
In retrospect, these are three examples of obstruction by presidents in office deben tomarse with tweezers. Exactly, all of the president-elect salaries have assisted in the position of his successor. But given Trump’s behavior from the day of the elections, it’s appropriate to say the example of his predecessors and not assist in Biden’s position.
By supuesto, al hacerlo, corre the same destiny as the former boycotters of the presidency positions. In the case of these previous presidents, his successor was more than one of the leaders and directed to the nation by one, but by the mandates. This is because it means a “Biden Era”.
