Gobernador Pedro Pierluisi crea Puerto Rico Reconstruction Council

Governor Pedro Pierluisi announced the creation, mediating Orden Ejecutiva, of the Council of Reconstruction of Puerto Rico which will accelerate the recovery and reconstruction processes of the Isla.

La Orden Ejecutiva 2021-011 establishes that the priority of this administration is to facilitate the financing, and the implementation of recommendations, consultations, permits and construction of infrastructure projects of a critical and urgent nature, with the end of nature.

The Council of Reconstruction, which will be chaired by the Secretary of State and Engineer with over 30 years of experience, Larry Seilhamer Rodríguez, will also be responsible for other officials of the Governorate of Puerto Rico who are agencies involved in the process. These agencies are: Central Office of Recovery and Reconstruction (COR3), Department of Living, Authority for the Financing of the Infrastructure of Puerto Rico, Department of Transportation and Public Works, Department of Economic Development, Department of Economics and Administration , Electric Energy Authority, Electricity and Alcantar Authority and the governing secretariat for priority projects.

“Hy verklaar as public policy that any reconstruction project caused by the causes caused by Hurricanes Irma and María, as well as by the recent earthquakes, will be considered as a critical project that must be attended to agility and urgency, is in line with the applicable ambient standards ”, the governor said.

The Council of Reconstruction must identify and recommend the distinct critical reconstruction projects and their level of priority, and issue information that must reach the governor and the secretariat of the government in which the recommendations of the government are established. The deadline for submitting information will be 60 days from the date of the execution of the Orden Executive.
