House majority whip James Clyburn is asking to investigate how rioters at the US Capitol knew where he would get his office space.
In an interview with Joe Madison, SiriusXM Radio, the South Carolina Democrat said Friday that he had never seen such a failure of law enforcement leadership and suggested ‘something else is going on here’.

“My office, if you do not know where it is, you will not accidentally find it,” he said. “The one place where my name is at the door, that office is right in the Statuary Hall. “How did they know to go there? Why did they not go where my name was?” he asked. “Then, where you will not find my name, but they found where I should be.”
“Something else is going wrong here,” he said. “We need to do an extensive investigation to find out.”
Clyburn said he supported the men and women of the Capitol police, but the agency’s leaders failed to do their job. He also wondered why videos posted on social media show officers opening barriers and taking selfies with those who made it inside the building.

Clyburn told Madison that those involved should be held accountable for their actions.
“We have to charge. We have to convict these people because one of the Capitol police [officers] died and someone must be executed for their death, “he said. All the people who were on the grounds the other day were complicit in it. “

Clyburn also noted that rioters were caught in photos reprimanding offices such as that of the Democratic House, Nancy Pelosi.
