Elon Musk has overtaken Jeff Bezos as the richest person in the world, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
Musberg, who founded electric car maker Tesla and rocket maker SpaceX, has a net worth of $ 188.5 billion, which is about $ 1.5 billion more than Amazon’s Bezos, Bloomberg said.
On Twitter, Musk responded to a tweet about his new status with two tweets saying: “How weird” and “Well, back to work …”
Musk climbed the rankings. In November he released Bill Gates as the second richest person when its net worth was $ 128 billion.
Although Bezos did not keep the title consistently, he achieved first place in October 2018 (this also happened briefly in 2017) when its net worth amounted to $ 160 billion. Gates used to occupy the place for 24 years.
Neither Musk nor Bezos responded to a request for comment.
