British supermodel Stella Tennant has died by suicide, her family said.
Tennant was 50 years old when she was found dead by authorities who answered a call on 22 December at a property in Duns, Scotland.
In a statement shared with Fox News, her family said they had been “humiliated by the outpouring of messages and sympathy since Tennant’s death.” They also confirmed that she was not doing well for some time.
“She was a beautiful soul, worshiped by a close family and good friends, a sensitive and talented woman whose creativity, intelligence and humor touched so much,” the family said in the statement.

“Stella has been ill for some time. It is therefore a matter of our deepest sorrow and despair that she was unable to continue, despite the love of those closest to her. In the sadness of Stella ‘s loss renews her family a sincere request for respect because their privacy must continue. ‘
A source close to Tennant’s family told The Daily Telegraph that her family members ‘it’s important to’ make them aware of mental health because it is misunderstood. ‘
Tennant’s family only confirmed her death on December 23 without giving a reason. They described her as a ‘wonderful woman and an inspiration to us all’.

Tennant was a well-known face in the fashion industry and appeared in various couture distributions in magazines such as Italian, British and French Vogue. She was the daughter of The Hon. Tobias William Tennant, who was the son of 2nd Baron Glenconner, and Lady Emma Cavendish, reported the outlet.

The model is also an expert on the catwalk and has regularly attended fashion shows around the world, attracting designer threads such as Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Prada.
In 2012, Tennant apparently received the honor as model of the year and was inducted into the Scottish Fashion Awards Hall of Fame. She is said to have left behind a husband and four children.
