COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. NCH will administer the COVID-19 vaccine to people 65 and older on Friday, the hospital announced on Wednesday.
A link for the appointment of the COVID-19 vaccine via NCH will be available Thursday afternoon, the NCH head nurse said. Appointments will start on Friday and then take place next week on Monday to Wednesday.
According to NCH, there are 1,200 appointments available between the Baker and North Naples campuses.
NCH received 4,900 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on December 23rd. They immediately vaccinated health care workers with direct patient contact.
In the initial phase of vaccine administration, the state instructed that 15% of the vaccine allocation be given to pre-hospital workers, such as EMTs and paramedics, who are at risk of developing COVID-19. Vaccine administration for that group began on December 31, 2020.
As of Wednesday morning, NCH has administered 2,147 vaccinations.
NCH is currently treating 77 patients with COVID-19.
Available appointment days are:
- Friday 8 January
- Monday 11 January
- Tuesday 12 January
- Wednesday 13 January
Anyone aged 65 or over can sign up for an appointment by visiting the COVID vaccine update page on the NCH website: www.NCHmd.org.
Appointments are mandatory to receive the vaccine. Walking is not allowed.
NCH said they realize appointments will fill up quickly. The hospital said they would offer more opportunities in the future as they get more vaccines.
