Tyler Perry says he did not receive his absent ballot, so he flew home to Georgia to vote

Tuesday is Georgia’s election day – a two-seat run-off contest that will determine which party will control the U.S. Senate – and by Monday, the absentee from the film magnate had not arrived.

Although Perry said he ordered it on December 2 and it was sent to him two days later, he still did not receive it.

“Does anyone else have this problem?” he asked on Twitter.

Stacey Abrams, the former candidate for governor of Georgia, had advice.

“Hi (Perry), we have you. Requested a vote but did not receive it? Vote in person on election day! Just tell the person at the check-in table that you want to cancel your vote and vote in person.” Abrams wrote on Twitter.

Perry did exactly that – with a flight to Georgia to vote. CNN could not confirm where he flew from.

“Hey (Abrams), I flew home because I did not get it. I will be there early in the morning. Too important to miss. Too important to miss!” he wrote.

Perry’s civil duty was done by 11 a.m. Tuesday, Perry said in a video posted on Twitter. And he encouraged others to do the same.

“Go out and vote, climb out, vote out, vote out, go out and vote,” he said.

On Tuesday, Georgia had two distances between current Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, and Democratic rivals Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.

Democrats must win both seats to enforce a 50-50 Senate and gain control, as elected Vice President Kamala Harris would cast a possible ballot. If one of the incumbents retains their seats, the Republicans will retain control.
