Former Wisconsin QB Jack Coan transfers to Notre Dame

On December 20, the quarterback of the University of Wisconsin was announced Jack Coan left the program and entered the transfer portal. Today, Irish Illustrated and 247Sports are hearing that the 6-3, 220-pound transfer to the University of Notre Dame.

During the 2020 soccer season, Coan did not appear in any games for the Badgers. He suffered a broken foot during the camp before the season and it was Graham Mertz which became the appetizer and never looked back. The future is bright for Wisconsin fullback and former All-American Bowl Most Valuable Player of 2020, as he completed 118 of 193 passes for 1,238 yards, 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions in seven games this season. As a junior, Coan was very impressive and led the Badgers to the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin ended the season with a 10-4 record behind Coan, completing 69% of his passes for 2,277 yards and 18 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions. Coan was then nominated before the season as a pre-season nominee for the Maxwell Award and the Manning Award for Watchlist.

Coan joins a quarterback Notre Dame who includes junior Brendon Clark, second year Drew Pyne and first-years Tyler Buchner and Ron Powlus III. The group will battle it out for the position under coach and attacking coordinator Tommy Rees.
