Kenosha victims who shoot demand 20 million dollars in damages from the city, police report

A man injured and the family of a protester who died after being allegedly shot by Kyle Rittenhouse during the protests in Kenosha are now demanding $ 20 million in damages from the city of Wisconsin, its state and law enforcement.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Gaige Grosskreutz, 26, and the parents of Anthony Huber intend to sue in recently issued notices, which typically precede local governments.

“We believe there was some negligence on behalf of the city and country,” Grosskreutz’s attorney, Kimberly Motley, told the newspaper.

Joseph Rosenbaum, also a protester, was also killed in the shooting.

KENOSHA PREPARATION FOR INVOLVEMENTS BEFORE JACOB BLAKE DECISION

Both claim notices, obtained by WTMJ, claim that ‘Kyle Rittenhouse, a minor from outside the state, illegally armed with an assault rifle, was allowed to roam the streets by Kenosha police and Kenosha sheriff’s department and many civilians threatened. and finally shoot three people. ‘

Grosskreutz’s document states that he sustained ‘serious, permanent physical damage, pain and suffering, loss of income and future earnings’ after the August 25 shooting.

“Mr Grosskreutz was in Kenosha with the aim of providing basic medical assistance to people who protested outside the protest action against Jacob Blake that night,” it said. “There was no justification for Gaige being shot at a white distance by Kyle Rittenhouse.”

The document, written on behalf of Huber’s parents, states that he ‘lost his life to protect innocent civilians’ and that they in turn ‘suffered damages, in part due to the loss of their son’s companionship’.

“After Rittenhouse had already shot dead one person, Anthony selflessly tried to disarm him and was killed himself,” he added.

Rittenhouse was released from prison in November after posting a $ 2 million mortgage, and a judge ruled in December that he would stand trial.
