Phil Spencer: Xbox works as hard as possible to meet demand for X / S series

In an interview with Major Nelson, Phil Spencer said that Xbox “is working as hard as we can” to get more Xbox Series X and S consoles to gamers as the shortages continue. Spencer said the concept of the year: “we got the consoles launched and we wanted us to have more of them, we were selling out too fast”. He continues: ‘I get some people [saying]”Why did you not build more, why did you not start earlier, why did you not send it earlier?” I mean all that stuff, and it’s really just physics and engineering, “. We are not holding it back, we are building it as fast as we can, we have all the mounting straps going “, Spencer added.

Spencer notes that he recently phoned Lisa Su (who manufactures the CPU and GPU of Xbox’s next-generation consoles) over the phone and asked, “how do we get more?”. Clearly, the team is working hard to get more consoles into the hands of players. Supply can now simply not meet demand, so shortages are expected – last year the chief financial officer of Microsoft said he would realistically expect supply to supply by the spring of 2021.

You can listen to Spencer’s quotes as part of Major Nelson’s “Closing out 2020” interview with the head of Xbox on his YouTube channel, where he also discusses the rollout of xCloud, his favorite games of the year and more.

In the other Phil Spencer news, the Xbox already said in November that comfort stemism is “one of the worst things in the industry”. In December, some British politicians called for a ban on console consoles and the use of retail purchase bots to combat resale.
