Everything Mack Brown said after the Orange Bowl’s loss to Texas A&M

After seeing fifth-place finish in Texas A&M for a 24-point fourth-quarter burst during the exciting Orange Bowl, North Carolina coach, Saturday night Mack Brown believes the Aggies should have been invited to the College Football Playoff.

“They should be a playoff game,” Brown said after his team’s 41-27 defeat. ‘I think they’re looking at each other and looking at Notre Dame, they’s so similar that we feel we need to expand the playoffs, number one, so that more guys will continue to play at the end of the year, and that will be the come help games. And number two, Texas A&M deserved to be in the playoffs, so give them credit for the year they had. ‘

The Tar Heels took a 27-20 lead at one point before the Aggies’ furious charge, highlighted by Devin Achane’s game-changing 76-yard attack along the sideline. The true first-year student saw most of the rushing load after an injury to Isaiah Player.
