Country singer Tyler Rich ended his 2020 with a disturbing experience that he will not soon forget, but believes it was meant to happen.
After finding a body during a jogging walk earlier in the day on New Year’s Eve, singer “The Difference” has since updated his fan that he spoke to the young man’s mother and shared an unexpected connection through time.

“Not as I planned to end 2020,” Rich initially posted Saturday. “My heart breaks for this poor young man.”
He further added that it would be an image and moment he would never forget.

Rich originally thought he saw a homeless man sleeping, and admits that he initially just ran past there. “After I ran around him, I felt bad for him, he slept with his face down and just looked like he was in a bad place,” Rich recalls. “Then I turned around and went back to examine him.”
At this moment, Rich realizes that the man is not breathing, but appears to be the victim of a shooting or a blunt force. After Rich tracked down a couple with a phone, he was able to get help for the victim.
“This young man looked like 18-25,” Rich suspects. “His skin was still white, did not look like it had happened too long before I got there.”
After authorities found a gun in the man’s possession, they began to theorize that it could be suicide, which Rich unexpectedly found comforting.

“If I know that he is not being thrown away there by someone else, and that he is where he wants to be, it will at least reassure me a little more,” he wrote.
The local Hampden DA office has confirmed that a body was found on New Year’s Eve in Chicopee Memorial Start Park. Western mass news, “There is no threat to public safety associated with this incident that does not appear to be criminal in nature.”
At the time of the discovery, Rich was wondering about the family of the young man who was wondering where he was, but he has since been connected to the family himself. In a subsequent report, Rich recounts that he spoke to the man’s husband and shared an unexpected and deeply meaningful series of numbers for him.

He takes note of his average pace at the moment he stopped, 11:11, and considers it a good sign. After talking to the man’s mother, he discovered that the last text she had received from her son was sent at 11:11, while Rich found him just 45 minutes later.
He stated that he believed he was in that ‘random part of the park’ at that exact time. [he] was supposed to be, to find that young man. ‘
“I really believe his spirit led me down that random side of the mountain to find him,” Rich shared. “They say when you see 11:11, that angels are with you and to wish what you want. To feel at ease. This is the universe by your side.”

Perhaps even more poignant for Rich’s fans, he has a song titled “11:11” that deals specifically with loss.
“Every time I see those numbers, it resonates with me,” he wrote. “This particular series of small events somehow comforts his family and myself.”
In his follow-up post, Rich reaches out to his own fans and followers and offers his ear and support to anyone struggling with thoughts of self-harm. “Community is so important, remember to tell people how much you love them, and remember to talk to someone, anyone when you feel lost and alone because you are not,” he wrote.
