Neither the Arizona Cardinals nor the Los Angeles Rams will be at full strength, with a playoff spot securing the winner of their Week 17 game.
The Cardinals are going short in the wide reception room on Sunday after placing Christian Kirk on the COVID-19 reserve list on Saturday, and it could be even thinner.
Larry Fitzgerald, who is doubtfully listed with a groin injury, is not expected to play late Saturday night, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter said the 37-year-old may try to surprise Arizona, but that the Cardinals do not count on him being available.
Fitzgerald has played in 13 of the team’s 15 games this season, and he missed two after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
He has 54 catches a year for 409 yards and one offense.
Ramme’s injury notes
On the other side of the field, the Rams have already declared quarterback Jared Goff with a thumb injury and wide receiver Cooper Kupp due to COVID-19.
However, they can have their full back room. Rookie is expected to play Cam Akers, although he is listed as doubtful with a high single voltage. according to Schefter.
Akers is second in the team in running yards with 591 on the season and has two rushing runs.
He has been strong lately and has rushed more than 70 yards in each of his last four games, including a 171-yard burst against the Patriots in Week 14.
Extra points
If the playoffs are not enough for the Cardinals players in the final game of the season, maybe $ 500,000 could help make at least one player succeed.
This is what defender De’Vondre Campbell will earn if the Cardinals win the game and earn a playoff spot, according to Schefter.
Campbell’s contract includes a $ 500,000 incentive if the Cardinals win the playoffs and play the linebacker in 65 percent of the teams.
So far, Campbell has been 80.97% of the teams on the field, the fourth of the players to defend in Arizona this season, according to Pro Football Reference. Just like the Cardinals, win and he’s in.
