DUXBURY, MASS. (WHDH) – An 18-year-old Duxbury resident is facing charges after police said teenagers from several South Shore communities were caught on New Year’s Eve while partying.

Officers who responded to a report of a riot at a home on Federal Eagle Road around 10:30 p.m., identified 17 teens and learned that several other people had fled the area before their arrival, according to Duxbury police.

At least one intoxicated partygoer was taken to a hospital by ambulance, police said.

Zackary Hamadeh, the party’s host, is charged with providing alcohol to minors. He is expected to face additional charges for violating COVID-19 collection restrictions.

According to police, the Duxbury school and health departments have been notified and steps have been taken to notify the other towns affected in an effort to reduce the risk to public safety.

An investigation continues.
