JACKSONVILLE, Fla. As the COVID-19 vaccine is rolled out across the state, various counties in Northeast Florida are announcing their plans to distribute the shots.
Below you will find a breakdown of the plans by country. We will add more as soon as we get new information.
Appointments for Jacksonville residents 65 years and older can receive their first dose of the vaccine, can be made from Wednesday (December 30). The shots for the residents will be fired from Monday morning (January 4).
Jacksonville firefighters who received the vaccine will help hand out the shots.

Clay County Emergency Management and the county’s health department will begin COVID-19 vaccinations on Monday (January 4). Vaccinations are given by appointment only.

People who can call for an appointment include:
- Individuals 65 years and older
- Healthcare workers
Vaccinations will be available within 15 minutes from 09:00 to 16:00 from Monday to Friday.
It is unclear when vaccines will be available to the general public.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue is vaccinating frontline personnel, including emergency medical technicians, paramedics and firefighters.

The first phase of COVID-19 vaccines has been designated for:
- Healthcare staff with direct contact with the patient
- Long-term care residents and staff
- Persons aged 65 and over
The province received its first award of the vaccine on Monday (December 28). The initial shipment was earmarked for healthcare providers.
The health department expected other priority groups – especially those over 65 – to start vaccinations in the coming weeks.
Health workers who do not work directly for a hospital or long-term care facility can receive the vaccination Saturday (Jan. 2) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flagler County Fairgrounds. Proof of ID is required.
The next priority group is people over 65 years of age. Flagler County residents in the age group can make appointments to be vaccinated from early January, the news release said. “The timing will depend on when the health department receives the next award, ideally next week.”
